To take the road less traveled is second nature to Della Tecnica. It's not often that an architectural and interior design company is approached for refurbishing yachts. Dr Vijay Mallya was only seeking interior fit-outs for his 100-year-old yacht, Kalizma. But looking at his lifestyle we instantly knew that the yacht needed a complete make-over. We used our most important tool - research - to find out all about marine architecture and engineering. We then convinced Dr Mallya to let us add another floor to the yacht by balancing out the weight at the hull, all keeping within RINA (Royal Institution of Marine Architects) guidelines. Finally, we redesigned the yacht interiors and provided turnkey fit-outs to make the yacht a true piece of luxury.
