Luxury has always been our signature, never mind the setting. But give us the space and a free hand and we can show you magic. Apart from 84 guest rooms, the client wanted us to design the executive, presidential and VIP suites and duplex - an honour for us. In return, we ensured that we do not let our client own either. Without much words, see for yourself how we did this.

Executive & Presidential Suite:

The key part of the Executive Suite is the Master bedroom that flows into the spa, complete with jacuzzi, steam, Swiss shower and saloon. The spa is also equipped with a floatation think tank and state-of-the-art treadmill. However, the show-stealer is the unique glass staircase that connects the two floors. A beautiful piece of art with each glass head emitting a blue glow makes it a visual marvel.

The key feature of the Presidential Suite is the attached 74-seater boardroom, fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology. A unique feature of the boardroom is the horseshoe-shaped boardroom table, which makes it look more functional and light.

Duplex:

The duplex is a luxurious residential space that doubles up as a business meeting facility. Intended for businessmen, the apartments are spread over two floors. Eight bays of 350 sq ft each are combined to achieve this look.

The distinctive colour-scheme and mirrored panel magnifies the area in the rooms, creating just the right mood for either one-day or a long stay. The three major tones used are yellow, mahogany and blue.

The furniture includes rich wood tones that enhance the feeling of luxury. Exclusive motorized curtains and blinds are a scoring point in opulence. The top-of-the-line finishes, plush upholstery, elegant panelling and ambient lighting all elements provide an almost picture-perfect finish.

Suite:

Designing the suite for the head of Sahara Star was a prestige. The suite needed to have a feel of 'home away from home', with spaces intelligently carved out of their rigid radial patterns.

Made out of three guest rooms dubbed together, the suite has a living room with cosy ambience, a dining area demarcated by a dark rust-coloured backdrop (the other wall of the dining area is designed with glass shelves and a console forming the bar, enabling the living room to double up as a house bar when required) and the puja room, which houses a mandir, an asana and a single bed for meditation or yoga. The bedroom is a very warm cosy space, complete with a walk-in-wardrobe and attached toilet.

The overall colour scheme is white, offset with dark-coloured veneer panelling and minimalist furniture to derive as much space after filling in the functions.

The rooms:

In capital cities across the world, the biggest challenge for the hospitality industry is to cope with shrinking spaces. Creating low-maintenance interiors is also important, as recurring maintenance costs double the capital investment every two years.

With this in mind, we created designs that reflect a lavish haven away from home - the fundamental idea behind five star hotels. This idea unites the duplex suite and the 84 rooms at Hotel Sahara Star, where old-world luxury blends perfectly with hi-tech facilities.
