Designer. Architect.
Entrepreneur. Technocrat. Social worker.
These are the many facets of Jimmy Mistry,
the 36-year-old MD and principal architect of Della Tecnica.
With versatility as his signature, Jimmy assumes his dynamic
persona with as much ease as his spaces embrace myriad styles.
Add to that ambition and obsession for perfection, and you
get design specialist with a distinctive style.
Jimmy's first stint with Italian design took him all the
way to Milan and Florence where he spent three years working
with furniture majors, getting a hands-on experience in
elements of design, manufacture and marketing.
He marked his return in 1996 by founding Della Tecnica
with six people working for him. From importing Italian
furniture to setting up a furniture manufacturing plant
to providing turnkey space solutions and development, Della
Tecnica and Jimmy Mistry have come a long way in 11 years.
His works have won him many accolades as well. Young Design
Practice Award by IIID (2001), Udyog Rattan & Transworld
Goldstar Awards by Institute of Economic Studies (1999),
Urban Heritage Award by Indian Heritage Society (2003),
Young Achievers Award by Indo-American Society (2004) are
a few of the awards that he has been honoured with.
Jimmy Mistry may have achieved so much so early in life,
yet he feels this is just the beginning. He believes that
when there is a commitment to achieve, there is only one
way - to the top.
